Exploring Eco Trails in Buzios

Thursday, January 15, 2026

It was fun to take a break from the sedentary beach to get out and explore some different local sights. To get to the 2 km eco trail, we needed to walk through town - so we fueled up with breakfast.

Don’t miss the statue of Brigitte Bardot, who put Buzios on the map

The trail starts at the end of the town's main beach, Praia do Canto.  The trails take you from little beach to little beach around the jungle tip – eventually ending at Tartaruga Beach.

To get to the first beach, Amores Beach, you walk on the rocks next to the water (best during low tide)

The 2 km trail connects the beaches of Canto, Amores, Virgens and Tartaruga

The circuit is surrounded by native forest, coasts and viewpoints

The area isn't well-marked, but there are some signs

Praia da Tartaruga is one of the most popular beaches in Buzios

Our treat after the walkabout was açaí, a highly addictive dessert sent by a goddess to Brazilians. It is more commonly known as a nutritious "superfood" packed with antioxidants, healthy fats, and minerals. Yum.

Addictive açaí!

We spent the afternoon taking advantage of the house's pool and bbq.

Chef Chris cooked up a fabulous meal
